King's Head in Gunnerside reopening?

Swaledale is cautiously optimistic that the King's Head pub in Gunnerside may reopen before too long. The owner of Keld Lodge, Nick, is planning to buy the pub, although it's not signed and sealed yet. However, fingers crossed, Nick is hoping to sign on the dotted line by possibly the end of June or early July.

It can't come too soon for Gunnerside; the locals (and visitors) have sorely missed the pub. Linda and Bob, at Ghyllfoot Tearoom, have, of course, done sterling work stepping into the breach over the last month.

Nick has applied for planning permission to update the pub, which is slightly trickier than normal, as the King's Head is a listed building. Hopefully, matters will proceed speedily and we look forward to the pub opening again soon!
