The Swaledale and Arkengarthdale Business Forum would like to invite every business owner and local person in Swaledale and Arkengarthdale to a meeting on Tuesday, 11th June, at 7pm, in the Terrace Room at the CB Inn, Arkengarthdale. Everyone welcome, member or not, business owner or not. The aim of the meeting is to discuss what organisation and arrangements will need to be made, so as to maximise the value of the Tour de France coming to Swaledale.  Lots of people have already indicated they have many questions to be answered and our local area needs to come together to liaise between ourselves, to make the most of this unique event, in plenty of time before July 2014. SABF will be hosting the meeting, but will not be responsible for taking charge of any organising. Rather, we are hoping local business proprietors, accommodation providers, shop owners and local people etc will take this opportunity to meet with one another and discuss between ourselves how best to take advantage of this opportunity and...

Saturday, 20 October, 10am to 4pm: Make Do and Mend Day - including ironing! St Andrew's Church will hold their 3rd autumn event of 'make do and mend' in aid of Fremington Village Hall on Sat, 20th October, 10am - 4pm. Please bring your items of clothing for repair and either stay and enjoy refreshments with us, or drop off your jobs and collect later. Jobs will be assessed as to whether we are able to help or not, but we have worked on a 95% 'job done' basis on past experineces of 'challenges' brought to us. Payment is ona donation per item basis and we look forward to your support of this event. Please contact Susan on 884366, or the Vicar on 884706, if you would like information.
