With stunning views over the River Swale and down the dale, Nettlebed is a homely cottage with a quirky old-fashioned atmosphere (and Grade 2 listed). A detached house in a rural countryside setting, the house is nevertheless not far from the villages of Low Row and Gunnerside.
Wonderfully comfortable, with an open fire in a feature fireplace (all coal included), it oozes character and charm with its flagged floors and 300-year-old beams (and lovely piano!). The cottage is tastefully decorated, with many paintings and artefacts, and perches on the hillside above Swaledale, with a panoramic vista spread out below. The Old Stable is a lovely stable conversion in the tiny hamlet of Crackpot. There are lovely views over surrounding roofs over Swaledale.
The Stable benefits from central heating, and a multi-fuel stove in the living room, starter pack of fuel included. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, a king with views, and a single, also with views. The cotttage has a spacious shower room, with a large shower enclosure.
The Stable welcomes one small to medium-sized dog, and has a private garden, although not fully enclosed, so your dog must be on a lead when outside. Free wifi, and a well-equipped kitchen mean the cottage is an ideal bolthole from the cares of workaday life. Parking for one car.

At the front there is ample parking. Stone built walls surround hay meadows at the back of the cottages leading towards Kisdon Hill giving wonderful views up the date.
Springs Cottage is a warm cosy cottage sleeping 4/5 in two bedrooms.
Meadow View is a lovely spacious cottage with the advantage of a large ground floor en-suite bedroom with one double and one single bed.
East Calvert House has all the conveniences of home, with a feel for luxurious comfort and dales character combined. The cottage is in a rural setting and south-facing, so is flooded with sunshine all day long, and the enclosed patio to the front is also sunny.
The living and dining rooms are spacious and ooze atmosphere, with traditional beamed and boarded ceilings and stone flagged floors.
The roomy main bedroom has a comfy kingsize bed and lovely views over the dale, as has the twin bedroom. The kitchen, bathroom and shower rooms are all newly fitted, making it easy to relax in luxury after a day's rambling from the door. Dogs are welcome, free wifi and parking for one car.
Sleeping up to two people, Glenkobla has a well-equipped small kitchen as part of the living space with sofa, table and chairs and a lovely view over the owner's neighbouring garden to nearby scenery. There is a TV with built in dvd player (and dvds) and an electric convector fire. Up a short flight of stairs is a cosy bedshelf with double bed. The bathroom has a bath with electric shower over, down a few steps from the living room.
The cottage is a short walk from the shops, tearooms, pubs and facilities of Reeth, with parking nearby.

The village of Gunnerside is at the centre of Swaledale and the ideal base for exploring one of the finest unspoilt dales with its famous lead mining history. There are an abundance of breathtaking walks straight from the door of the cottage, with The Pennine Way and Coast to Coast Path close by.
Five minutes walk away; the Kings Head provides lunch and evening meals. In the centre is a licensed tea room/bistro and on Friday evening the visiting Ramsey fish and chip van arrives.
In the nearby village of Muker, the Farmers Arms, provides lunch and evening meals. Approximately two miles away in Low Row, is a gastro pub, the Punch Bowl, and the village of Reeth, only six miles away offers further pubs, tea shops, newsagents, a garage and a Post Office. Keen cyclists can rent bikes from the Dales Bike Centre at Fremington. Those with a sense of adventure can visit the highest pub in England, Tan Hill Inn, ten miles away.
Situated in the lee of a hill, Joe House has a spacious dining kitchen, with dishwasher, fridge/freezer and induction hob, and the cosy living room has a leather sofa and multi-fuel stove, coal included, first basket of logs.
Upstairs, the cottage has two large bedrooms, sleeping up to 5 people, and a family bathroom (good views from the WC!). The first bedroom has king and single beds and the second bedroom can be superking or twin.
The cottage is about a mile from Gunnerside, the last bit along a single track road. Note, the track to the cottage is a bit rough and ready, not really suitable for low-slung cars. The garden, sheltered by the hill, is the perfect place to relax after a day's walking amid the outstanding Swaledale scenery! Free wifi, plenty of parking, sorry, no dogs.
Low Rigg sleeps 6 in three bedrooms, has lots of space to relax in, both upstairs and down, and a gorgeous private garden, with lovely views to nearby hills. The dining room (with electric piano) seats 6 comfortably, and has a log burning stove for chilly evenings. Through to the living room, with a charming antique linen press and feature fireplace, again, lots of space for a family holiday.
Upstairs are two very spacious double front bedrooms, overlooking the village, and a twin bedroom which looks out onto the lovely garden. There is also a family bathroom, with bath, separate shower, WC and basin. Lots of walks direct from the door, and the Farmer's Arms just yards away for great beer and food. All in all, a lovely home from home for a family holiday in beautiful Swaledale. Dog-friendly, free wifi, parking for one car in the garden or nearby public parking.
Fell View is deceptively spacious (in estate agent-speak!), with 3 good-sized bedrooms and family bathroom upstairs, and living room, with dining room and kitchen off. The bedrooms are a king, a double and the third bedroom has a single bed with pullout single guest bed (not much extra floor space).
The living room has a cosy multi-fuel stove, for which the first basket of logs and bucket of coal is provided. The cottage has overnight storage heaters throughout and is charmingly decorated and furnished. While there is no garden, the cottage overlooks the lovely grassy island, with its anniversary rose arch and benches where you can sit out and enjoy the sun on your face!
There are lots of great walks direct from the door, including Gunnerside Ghyll and meadow walks where the buttercups look stunning. The cottage is warm, cosy and comfortable, an ideal base for a relaxing holiday in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Swaledale is the most beautiful of all the Dales and guests return year after year to this lovely spot.
